Hopefully this photograph may help you to catch a glimpse of this well-hidden church in the south
of Trastevere. In the middle of the photo behind the tree-tops a small portion of the rather narrow
façade may be seen. Behind it the octagonal dome rises. The exact location of the church is Via
Ulisse Seni 2, and it is dedicated to
Saint Antonio Maria Zaccaria.
It was built in 1933 by the architects Ugo Luccichenti and Adriano Prandi for the International
Theological College of the Barnabite Fathers. The church building is preceded by a flight of
steps. The lower part of the façade is divided by four white columns, while the upper part has
a window with the Barnabite coat-of-arms over it. The interior, which has a Latin cross plan and is
divided into three naves, has a cassetted ceiling with stucco decorations and a fresco painting
depicting
Saint Antonio Maria Zaccaria by Matteo Traverso.
